Project Specifics
The client wanted corrosion protection for an aboveground storage tank on sand/soil foundation with a concrete ring wall, no liner, eight ports, and no anchor bolts.
Zerust Solution
The engineers at Zerust® Oil & Gas developed custom solutions for this client and successfully installed an IDS sealant system around the chime area of the targeted asset and completed the injection of the corrosion inhibiting solution slurry on the tanks using Zerust’s Chime Ring IDS along with the installation
of ER probes for DS monitoring and Corrosion Monitoring coupons.
IDS Installation
Chime Ring IDS pipe system with sealant materials was installed around the circumference of the targeted tank. 37nos locations for fogging were marked and drilled on tank bottom plates and fogged using Zerion FVS powder at a quantity of 9.3kg in each drilled hole. The locations were cleaned properly after fogging and the same was welded later. Corrosion monitoring ER probes were installed at 8 nos locations as shown in provided schematic.
