Zerion® Hydrotest-8

Hydrostatic testing is a critical process for verifying the structural integrity of pipelines, but it often presents challenges such as corrosion. Corrosion can develop due to delays, residual water pockets after draining the line, or can be accelerated when low- quality water is used. These issues may result in increased operational costs, delays, and potential risks to pipeline integrity. Zerion® HydroTest-8, a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor powder, is specifically designed to address these challenges effectively.

By mitigating corrosion and streamlining operations, Zerion® HydroTest-8 ensures pipeline integrity, enhances efficiency, and supports cost-effective and environmentally* responsible hydrostatic testing.

*Consult local environmental regulations to ensure compliance with specific discharge requirements in your area.

Typical Applications

  • Hydrostatic testing of pipelines, piping circuits and static equipment such as storage tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc...
  • Use in facilities requiring environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors.
  • Testing applications in regions with strict disposal regulations (e.g., California).

Key Advantages

  • Corrosion Reduction: Protects assets during hydrostatic testing, especially during downtime between testing and commissioning.
  • Environmental Compliance: Its neutral pH may make the product safer for discharge onto the soil, potentially reducing the need for additional steps to comply with local environmental regulations, subject to proper evaluation.
  • Cost-Effective: Reduces potential repair costs by minimizing corrosion damage.
  • Ease of Use: Water-soluble powder dissolves easily, simplifying application.
  • Operational Efficiency: Helps maintain pipeline integrity, reducing delays and operational risks.
  • Versatility: Suitable for various water qualities and diverse hydrotesting scenarios.

Operating Summary

  • Mix Zerion® HydroTest-8 thoroughly into water. Concentration is dependent on length of time the asset will be in contact with the solution, condition of the asset, and quality of the water.**
  • Apply solution to asset as specified in the Scope of Work. A Zerust® Field Engineer can be assigned to oversee the operation.
  • Dispose of the solution in accordance with local, regional, national, and international regulations as applicable.
